TIG’s Privacy Policy

Your right to privacy is very important. We recognize that when you choose to
provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible
manner. We believe this information should only be used to help us provide you
with better service. That's why we have put a policy in place to protect your
personal information.

This policy covers TIG's corporate web sites, which include http://www.tig.com/,
http://www.tigsd.com/ .  We encourage you to take the time to read this privacy
policy and those of any web site you visit.

Below is a summary of TIG's online privacy policy.

What personal information do we collect?
In general, when you visit our web sites and access information you remain
anonymous. Before we ask you for information, we will explain how this information
will be used. We will not provide any of your personal information to other
companies or individuals without your permission.

Some of our web sites require registration to access, although typically all that is
requested is your e-mail address and some basic information about you.

There are occasions where we will ask for additional information. We do this to be
able to better understand your needs, and provide you with services that we believe
may be valuable to you. Some examples of information our web sites collect are
name, address and phone number. We give you the opportunity to elect not to
receive materials from us.

Protecting your privacy
We will take appropriate steps to protect your privacy. We will also take reasonable
security measures to protect your personal information in storage. For example, if
you supply us with your credit card information to make an online purchase, we
encrypt the card number. Additionally, access to personally identifiable information
is limited to individuals needing such access to perform their job function.

We will not provide any of your personal information to other companies or
individuals without your permission. However, we may need to provide your name
and delivery address to third parties that TIG uses for the purposes of delivering
specific services to you (e.g., customer support, or a shipping company if you have
asked us to send something to you). Likewise, we will share your credit card
information with the appropriate authorization and processing companies, in the
event you were to purchase something via credit card. These companies will not
use this information for any other purpose and will not disclose the information to
anyone else.

We provide links to third party sites. Since we do not control those web sites, we
encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on these third party sites.

Children's privacy
None of the Web sites covered by this policy knowingly collect personally identifiable
information from children under age 13. If we discover that a child under the age of
13 has provided us with any personally identifiable information, we will delete that
information from our systems.

TIG encourages parents to go online with their children. Parents should understand
the sites their kids are visiting and which sites are appropriate. There are parental
control tools available such as browsers and filtering software that prevent children
from accessing inappropriate sites. Children should never give out personal
information on the Internet, such as name, address, phone number, or name of school,
unless supervised by a parent or responsible adult. Look for a privacy policy on a web
site and find out how information collected from children is treated. Parents should
teach their children to look for sites that display a privacy policy.

Use of cookies
TIG web sites use cookies for various reasons. Cookies enable us to provide you with
a better experience by allowing us to understand what areas of the web site are of
interest to our visitors. TIG also uses cookies when you register for one of our web
programs. In this situation, a cookie will store useful information that enables our web
site to remember you when you return to visit us. TIG can only read cookies from TIG
web sites. If you choose to disable cookies in your browser, you can still access most
of our web sites.

Data storage and processing in the United States
Many of our web sites that collect information will process and store that information
in databases located in the United States.

How can you update the personal information you have provided to TIG?
You can help TIG maintain the accuracy of your information by notifying TIG of any
changes to your address, title, phone number or e-mail address. Most of our programs
allow you to make the changes yourself by following the instructions on the program's
membership profile pages or by e-mail.

If you need assistance in updating your information, please contact the TIG Support
team (info@tig.com ). To aid the agents in processing your request, please include
your contact information (name, address, e-mail), the name of the TIG program or
service you need the changes applied to, and the details of the change (e.g., update
email address, unsubscribe from a newsletter). This information you provide to TIG
Support will also be covered by this policy.

How to unsubscribe from email/newsletters
If at any time you wish to stop receiving an electronic newsletter from TIG you can
unsubscribe as explained in the newsletter or e-mail.

Newsgroups / Forums / Message Boards
Keep in mind that information posted to any forum is public.

Questions?
TIG welcomes comments and questions on this policy. We are dedicated to protecting
your personal information, and will make every reasonable effort to keep that information
secure. Due to the rapidly evolving technologies on the Internet, we may occasionally
update this policy. All revisions will be posted to this site.

TIG's Privacy Principles
TIG is committed to user privacy in our products and services.

To this end, TIG supports the following principles:

Consumer Choice
We believe the user is the one to best determine:

  • When -- and under what conditions -- to provide "personally identifiable information"
  • When to remain anonymous.

Informed Consent
If personally identifiable information is collected, we believe the user has the right to:

  • Know when a website is collecting personal information
  • Know what personal information is collected, and the purpose of collection
  • Receive explicit notification before any personal information is collected
  • Expect that personal information will not be provided to any third party without the
    user's permission
  • Expect reasonable steps to be taken to protect personal information from unauthorized
use Review the accuracy of personal information and update it

Government and Private Actions
We believe a market environment, supported by good consumer information and industry
self-regulation, provides the most efficient way to support user privacy needs.

Therefore, we have taken the following steps:

  • Effective July 1, 2000, TIG will only purchase advertising space on web sites posting a
    comprehensive privacy policy.
  • Cooperative advertising licensees are being urged to follow a similar policy, which will
become a U.S. program requirement as of January 1, 2000. Similar requirements will be
implemented in other countries as local guidelines are established by similar regional
    organizations.

If laws and regulations are created, we believe they should support innovation and a
technology-neutral framework to maximize the choices available to users, product
suppliers and service providers. TIG will comply with all applicable laws where we
conduct business.

Questions regarding this statement should be directed to info@tig.com.
